Privacy policy

What we collect

Nothing, on our side. This site has no backend and no database. Every interactive surface — the contact form, the sign-in and onboarding, the store checkout, the member chat, the track-feedback and Bash uploaders, the rack, the AI assistant — is a demonstration that runs entirely in your browser. Submitting them sends nothing anywhere. The terms of service describe how the demonstrations behave; this page covers the little they keep, all of it on your device.

The specifics people reasonably worry about. The contact form composes a message in your own mail app through a mailto link, and nothing is sent unless you press send there. Files handed to an uploader or the rack are read locally to draw waveforms and meters, then go nowhere; the one picture that stays is a portrait you choose for your profile, which is kept in your browser's own storage and listed below. Passwords are checked while the page is open and then dropped, never stored. Checkout checks only that a card number is the right shape, charges nothing, and never keeps the number; the receipt it saves holds the order number, the line items, the totals, a timestamp, and the email you entered. The AI assistant matches keywords against canned answers written into the page and makes no requests.

Data stored in your browser

A few features remember things between pages or visits, using your browser's built-in storage — eleven keys in all, every one of them in localStorage on your device and none transmitted to us or anyone else.

Seven of them: apa.admin-prods, Prods adjustments made in the admin console; apa.cart, your demonstration cart; apa.cart-seeded, a marker that the cart was pre-filled once, so it does not refill after you empty it; apa.newsletter, the address you gave the newsletter form, kept so it does not ask twice; apa.profiles, the demo roster profile for each address that has signed in (artist name, the portrait image you chose, role, join date, onboarding state, and Prods balance); apa.session, the demo sign-in session — email, artist name, portrait, role, join stamp, onboarding state, Prods balance, and an expiry stamp that retires it on its own after 14 days; and apa.theme, your theme choice.

The remaining four sit alongside them, and keep what they hold just the same: apa.bash-board, the sample Bash submission board; apa.chat, the demo member chat, meaning its seeded producers and whatever you have typed back, plus whether the panel was open; apa.onboarding-draft, an in-progress onboarding draft (artist name, portrait, email, location, genres, roles, and the step you reached); and apa.order, the receipt from your most recent demonstration checkout.

The rack, the track player, and the AI assistant keep their state in page memory only, so leaving the page ends it. The sign-in session is the one key that runs down a clock; every other key sits there until you clear it or a demonstration clears it for you — placing a demo order empties the cart on the spot. Clearing site data for this domain removes all eleven keys at once and ends the demo session with them, and signing out clears the session while leaving your profile in place on purpose.

Cookies & tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics — no tracking pixels, no ad networks, and no third-party scripts, fonts, or frames. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control change nothing here because there is nothing to switch off; consider the signal honored on arrival.

Hosting & third parties

The site is served by Netlify, which keeps standard server access logs — IP address, requested page, timestamp, browser — as part of operating its network. Those logs live with Netlify, not with us, and its privacy policy covers them.

The Alliance also organizes on Meetup, Discord, and Instagram. Following those links takes you off this site and onto each service's own terms and privacy practices.

Email

Write to hello@austinproduceralliance.com and we receive your address and whatever you chose to say. We use them to reply and for nothing else — no lists, no sharing, no automated processing. The press address, press@austinproduceralliance.com, reaches the same organizers and works the same way. Mail sits in an ordinary mailbox; ask us to delete a thread and we will.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and nothing anyone enters here — child or adult — ever reaches us; what the demonstrations keep stays in your own browser. The terms of service draw the same line for membership. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If the site gains real infrastructure — a live store, member accounts, a mailing list — this policy will be rewritten to say what changed before it ships. The date at the top marks the current version.
